Brian Sofer is a singer/songwriter from New York who is now based in Denver.  Brian stepped out from behind the machine and onto the stage as an acoustic solo artist in late 2002. Sofer’s music combines driving guitar rhythms with passionate vocals and captivating stories. A raspy and soulful delivery blended with thought-provoking lyrics keep Brian’s sets interesting, unique, and enjoyable for fans of stripped-down, live, honest music.

Sofer is the lead singer of Denver rock band Breaking & Entering. As a solo artist, Brian’s played clubs and venues all over the country including stops in New York City, Hoboken, Hartford, Baltimore, Washington DC, Louisville, Indianapolis, Raleigh, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Albuquerque, Ft. Collins, Moscow, Corvallis, Fayetteville, Denver; and has shared bills with many artists including Jerry Joseph, Outformation, Eric McFadden Trio, Bloodkin, and Barbara Cue.

In addition to singing and songwriting, Brian has always been an innovative web developer and online community builder.   Sofer launched several web communities (wsptrading.com, tapetrading.com and theFlatlander.com) before  working as internet consultant and webmaster for Athens GA’s Widespread Panic from 1997-2006 and hosted the band’s Podcast from 2000 through mid-2010.  Brian’s latest online project, Organic Ingredients Now, launched in January 2010.

As a live event producer and promoter, Sofer successfully produced international BMX competitions  for M&M Mars Inc. in Los Angeles and Chicago as well as independently in Atlanta and New York.
