Pedro Lopez

Hatched in the jungles of Colombia
Born to a woman of the night
One of thirteen in a brutal tribe
Thrown to the wolves at only eight
Adios little Pedro
Time to fend for yourself
Adios little Pedro
Mom’ll see you in hell

A friendly man approaches
Son wipe your tears away
Come with me, and I’ll fix you right up
Your innocence is mine!
How’s it feel little Pedro?
As I steal your precious smile
How’s it feel little Pedro?
The street’s no place for a child

Lord won’t you help me?
I’m just a little boy
What have I done to deserve this?
Please make this pain
Go away

Good evening little Pedro
I heard your prayers last night
No I’m not god, I’m the next best thing
And I’m the only one you’ve got
Come now little Pedro
Your soul belongs to me
Come now little Pedro
I’m gonna set you free

By 18 he was locked up
Four brutes at once had their way
He was left with only shame and hate
Diablo what should I do?
Go and slay them evil Pedro
Now you know why you’re here
Go and slay them evil Pedro
I’m beside you, have no fear

You’ve done well my son
Time to spring you from your cell
Off to Peru and Ecuador
We’re gonna make history
Follow me evil Pedro
There’s more work to be done
Follow me evil Pedro
We’ve only just begun

Angels began disappearing
Vanished without a trace
Townspeople screamed in horror
Where have our daughters gone?
Why oh why little Pedro?
Look at what you’ve become
Why oh why little Pedro?
300 taken by one

Lord won’t you help me?
I’m just a little girl
What have I done to deserve this?
Please señor
Let me go

You are the monster of the Andes
But it’s time for you to go
So you’re the ‘man of the century’
How many lives we’ll never know

Hopped on the bus back in ’79
He always felt outta place, but no one seemed to mind

And then he – sat on down and blew us all away
He had the curse of the ivories but not that day

And then he – poured out his soul like a man possessed
It was at that time the circus truly was blessed

Cosmic Viking
So far from me
So easy to love you
I hope you’re finally free

He filled those shoes, there could be no doubt
Yet for some strange reason, he was down and out

Passin’ tons of steel, with just a little light
Yeah he could run, run, run, but he could never hide

He gave us good times, and he took us home
But I’ll never understand why he felt so alone

Cosmic Viking
So far from me
So easy to love you
I hope you’re finally free

The jackals focused on the papa bear
Everyone assumed you’d always just be there

Twelve years have past since you left this place
Never trust a woman, I guess you made your case

Still one thing I always wanted to know
Was it really that speedball, or did you just wanna go?

Cosmic Viking
So far from me
So easy to love you
And you’re finally free

Black Solstice

 - by admin

Go west young man
And smell the blackened skies
The rodeo has hit the mountains

Go east young man
And touch the darkest demons
Where death is a drug for the blinded

Give me your hand
And make these fires stop burning
Give me your hand
And make these fires stop burning

Go uptown
And taste the sweetest potions
The sucker today is the bum tomorrow

Go to the dome
Just lay your money down
It’s easy to buy what you don’t want to fix

Give me your hand
And make these fires stop burning
Give me your hand
And make these fires stop burning

Go to the captain
Of this ship of fools
But don’t expect to get an answer

Go ahead young man
Go make these fires stop burning
Go ahead young man
Go make these fires stop burning
Go make these fires stop burning

Evens Out

 - by admin

Two beams of light
Floating down the same old path
Drifting in from different directions

Caught in the fog
Of a hazy hesitation
Coming out of a curve, slick with stars

Two steps forward
Three steps back
But it all evens out in the end

Flow with the go
Towards your sacred destination
Be sure to take in the sights along the way

It was all set from the start
A beginning with no end
The chase and the outcome are one in the same

Two steps forward
Three steps back
But it all evens out in the end

Coming back around full circle
It always does, again and again
Don’t lose out looking for a detour

When all is said and done
All we ever need is still right here
New from the old takes time to grow

Two steps forward
Three steps back
But it all evens out in the end

Fall Into Line

 - by admin

It’s been eight months or maybe more
And we’ve got ourselves a good ole war
But this one’s very different they say
Yet it seems to change day by day

And we’re all sleeping tight at night
Because we know that we are right
And if you think we’re not my friend
Well I guess you’re un-American

Tommy, Johnny, Donny and Dick
They know all about those dirty tricks
While the empty suit plays on our fears
They’ve dated this country thirty years

Don’t ask questions
How dare you
Fall into line boy
We’ll let you know

Well the battle goes beyond the east
And winds up in our city streets
And while they sentence Zach to fry
Johnny fights the right to die

They promised they would smoke ‘em out
And they’re talkin’ tough, so have no doubt
But it sure is funny how ‘dead or alive’
Has come to mean ‘marginalized’

They tell us that we’re well prepared
And there ain’t no reason to be scared
Because Tommy has his color codes
And poppy’s got his sweet black gold

Don’t ask questions
How dare you
Fall into line boy
We’ll let you know

This boys club sure does walk the walk
Even for a bunch of chicken hawks
When they hit a verbal landmine
Dick speaks up to flip the headlines

And the ‘evil doers’ ran off to hide
In that one country who’s on our side
But I guess that doesn’t matter to some
As long as they keep on beatin’ that drum

Don’t ask questions
How dare you
Fall into line boy
We’ll let you know

I’ll Take What I Can Get

 - by admin

Gotta know what you’re looking for
Gotta know when it’s found
Gotta know what matters to you
Take a look, it’s what’s always around

But I haven’t figured it out yet
No I don’t know what she meant
Well I’m not gonna be upset
Because I’ll take what I can get

Don’t have to know all the answers
Don’t have to know what’s right or wrong
Just have to do what feels good inside
When you need it, it may be gone

But I haven’t figured it out yet
No I don’t know what she meant
Well I’m not gonna be upset
Because I’ll take what I can get

Thinking about those special yesterdays
Thinking about the days to come
Hoping for more good times ahead
And I bet they’re not all done

But I haven’t figured it out yet
No I don’t know what she meant
Well I’m not gonna be upset
Because I’ll take what I can get

Feeling lucky since it happened
A little bit’s better than nothing at all
Find myself smiling more and more
Found my favorite day in Fall

But I haven’t figured it out yet
No I don’t know what she meant
Well I’m not gonna be upset
Because I’ll take what I can get

Gonna hop behind the wheel
See what I can find
Don’t know where I’m headed
But I sure don’t mind
And that’s alright
It’s alright

Road starts lookin’ hot
About 3 hours in
No I don’t know where I’m going
But I sure know where I been
And that’s alright
It’s alright

Belly starts to scream
So I stop to get a bite
Meet a fine lookin’ betty
Guess I’m stayin’ for the night
And that’s alright
It’s alright

Start back on out
Just as soon as we wake up
The highway’s still a callin’
And I haven’t had enough
And that’s alright
It’s alright

Keep on rollin’ along
And there’s a sign up ahead
Gonna make that exit
But I don’t know what it said
And that’s alright
It’s alright

Gotta know where you’re going
That’s what some people say
But the ride is always better
When you make your own way
And that’s alright
It’s alright

No Ordinary Day

 - by admin

It was a bright, shiny morning
That’s when it all began
She was standing in the road
With a flower in her hand
I rubbed my little eyes
Could she be for real?
And as time dragged still
I forgot how to feel

But not for long

She blew me a kiss
It knocked me right off my feet
And as she approached
I forgot how to speak

But not for long

She said don’t say a word
Just come along with me
I sure hope you’re not blind
I got something for you to see

That’s when it happened
I knew right away
This was no ordinary woman
She was no ordinary day

We went to the mountain top
To her home in the sky
She started spinning and dancing
‘Go on and give it a try’
She stretched out her arms
And then shot me a grin
A breeze whipped through her long hair
And I thought I was in

But not for long

We finally raced through the clouds
The rules started to bend
While this day went forever
It looked like the end

But not for long

She jumped through the air
Did she ever come down?
I needed to have her again
And she wasn’t around

That’s when it happens
You’ll know right away
There is no ordinary woman
She is no ordinary day
That’s when it happened
I knew right away
This was no ordinary woman
She was no ordinary day

Go now fly away
See you again
On another day
On a different day

Psycho Kitty

 - by admin

Cat’s been chasing shadows
He’s tearing through the halls
Kitty’s seeing spirits
And he’s climbing up the walls

He jumped up to the window
Tore my curtains down
Now he’s talking to the birdies
While he shakes that tail around

He’s just a little bit frisky…

Well I’m trying to get some sleep
Just wanna get to bed on time
Then he hops up on my face
Ouch! – those whiskers are all my mine

I wake up in the morning
With my eyes all wet and pink
I go to get some water
And he’s drinking from the sink

He’s just a little bit frisky
He don’t mean no harm
Yeah a little bit frisky
Yeah aren’t we all

It rained again last night
And the bugs came through the door
I’d sic my kitty on ‘em
But he’s squirming on the floor

My couch is all but shredded
He don’t scratch on any toys
Possessed by feline Satan
So it had to be destroyed

He’s just a little bit frisky…

He’s sitting on the rug
With his leg behind his back
His tongue is pretty busy
Hey man – don’t do that!

He’s a crazy ball of fur
But like Mikey used to say
Get yourself some good ones
And they’ll help you pass the day

He’s just a little bit frisky…

Shining Bright

 - by admin

What I know, it ain’t much
I sure hope mama had her reasons
I guess, some things are too good to keep

Where I’ve been,it ain’t far
Inspiration has brought us a long way
So go on, that light keeps shining bright

What I’ve seen, it ain’t clear
Searching for answers just brings more questions
Someday, we may understand

Who we are, just passin’ through
Some gates are closed and some are open
So go on, that light keeps shining bright

We’ll keep it shining bright
Always shining bright
We’ll keep it shining bright
