Laundry Day
performed by Brian Sofer
Jack

It’s nice to watch ‘em crash and burn before they get replaced
just to see ‘em go down with that look upon their face
slitherin’ out the courthouse, black fodora-topped disgrace
whatever packs the piggy bank are values he’ll embrace

What happened to Ralph’s manufactured godly hue and cry?
guess Hammer’s somehow pro-life when slave-babes are forced to die
sellin’ out the Indians, takin’ bets from every side
it’s laundry day, you better pray, he don’t hang you out to dry

And it’s such a lovely day
that’s what all of his friends say
up until they find out that he’ll seal their fate
on laundry day

All the power hungry rats who were caught holdin’ the bag
suddenly decided dirty money must go back
wash it all away by disappearing in the flag
we’ll shill those fluffy pieces, in all of Rupert’s rags

Put the mrs. on the payroll, gotta take care of the wives
contract out the worker bees, stuff ‘em in their hives
all for just a golf vacation on the British isles
prep the money for the laundry man, stack it in 2 piles

And it’s such a lovely day
that’s what all of his friends say
up until they find out they’re one of the names
on laundry day

Some of you are gonna have to take one for the team
it’s really nothing personal, it’s a very standard plea
I promise that this trust fund will be waitin’ when you’re free
it’s laundry day, you earned your pay, go perp-walk on TV

And it’s such a lovely day
that’s what all of his friends say
up until they find out that they’re goin’ away
on laundry day

Jesus Is My Cable Guy
performed by Brian Sofer and Lee Adkins

Jesus is my cable guy, he came to my front door
Stepped inside, looked around, checked my order to be sure
He said, now son, I got you down for Ultra mega-channels gold
It’s a one-time only offer from the corp who’ll save your soul

We got all your local networks, sports and movies by the ton
I’ll hook you up with CBN to keep old Satan on the run
An endless cast of dyed-blonde shills from the entertainment news
And exclusive, discount prices on salvation pay-per-views

That sounds pretty good to me, are you ready to begin?
He said, lemme sanctify your coax ‘fore I get this stuff plugged in
Now this black box will bring you all the dreams you’ll ever need
And for an extra couple bucks I’ll make your internet high-speed

Well, add that to the bill my Lord, let’s get this wide web flyin’
I’m bored of being uninformed, perhaps from lack of tryin’
There’s nothin’ wrong with gettin’ fed your breaking, scooped reports
or havin’ all my info beamin’ from one divine source

This diamond stud remote control’s your new messiah now
And you’ll find yourself the answers in this book that shows you how
But if you’re lost and can’t pick up our signal crystal clear
Just ring one of our angels bells, they’ll always be right here

Thanks again, my old friend, only got one question more
What the hell are you installing TV-cable for?
Well I died for you and all your sins in case there’s any doubt,
But I had to get a job myself, once heaven got bought out

Ready For A New Act
performed by Breaking & Entering

They sent me down from Langley
and I had to leave my post
They wiped away my records clean
You’re looking at a ghost

We both know why I’m here
So let’s just cut right to the chase
The spooks I represent
found someone new to take your place

From what I heard the camel’s back got broken long ago
Probably wasn’t all that smart to mess with Val and Joe
Bite the hand that feeds you, you went and got the wrong folks mad
Nobody’s gonna save you now not even dear old dad

I’m just a cowboy doin’ as I’m told
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old

We thought you knew exactly what this job of ours required
Poppy should’ve told you once we forced him to retire
You blurred the lines with your corporate ties and ruined our illusion
When all you had to do was feed them media confusion

The greatest leader steadfast and bold
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old

We had a chance to sit a while and I’ll let you decide
Coronary, car crash or just plain old suicide
Hubris got the best of you and we sacked your kind before
We only let you live to get our spoils from the war

Mission accomplished, yeah I read above the fold
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old
Self-made success story spun from Saudi gold
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old
They’re ready for a new act yours is getting pretty old

Keep Your Mind
performed by Breaking & Entering
Recorded Live MAR 23, 2007
Rumpus Room - Edwards, CO
B&E

Time to take myself a walk
The strowlers gonna look me up and down
Inchin’ straight ahead
Faked my way through another day
and kept my mind
kept my mind

Pretty faces old and new
A beauty pageant psychic-history’s revealed
Whisper til it hurts
We’ll float our way through another day
By desire
Yeah desire

kept my mind
kept my mind
Desire
Desire
I’ll keep my mind
You keep your mind

Echoes bouncin’ in my ears
The voices taste just as sweet as chocolate ice cream
remind me why
I faked my way through another day
and kept my mind
kept my mind
Desire
Desire
I’ll keep my mind
You keep your mind

Some claim they know up from down
They’ll sell you all the truth that you can handle
Make sure you own your life
Fake your way through another day
And keep your mind

Keep your mind
Keep your mind

Coffee To Go
performed by Breaking & Entering
Breaking & Entering

Winds swirlin’ wide
Wet with rain
Drops nail my head
To the dashboard once again

But I’ll drive
For a long time
Point the way
Just make that coffee to go

One more night
Between the lines
Paint hits my face
Smack in the eyes once again

But I’ll drive
For a long time
Point the way
Just make that coffee to go

Yeah I’ll drive
For a long time
Point the way
Just make that coffee to go

I look up high
What’s in my wake
Another double-runner
Blow you away once again

But I’ll drive
For a long time
Point the way
Just make that coffee to go

Yeah I’ll drive
For a long time
Point the way
Just make that coffee to go

Recorded Live FEB 2, 2005

She grabbed my hand, and away we ran
through those crowded hotel stairs

Around the bend, and up again
Five years ago seems like yesterday

Not a day passes by
When I don’t ask myself why
But I never did forget
‘Bout the sweetest ‘Bama girl

She showed me in, fixed me a gin
That’s Southern hospitality, you know

A crazy night, a room packed tight
But my ‘bama girl was all I saw

Not a day passes by
When I don’t ask myself why
But I never did forget
‘Bout the sweetest ‘Bama girl

If I could do it all over again
I’d stay with you for a while
Findin’ out just what could’ve been,
May be worth another try

The next day at four, she’s at my door
The more the merrier I always say

That party raged, and I was saved
With my ‘bama girl right next to me

Not a day passes by
When I don’t ask myself why
But I never did forget
‘Bout the sweetest ‘Bama girl

I woke up twitchin’, she’s in my kitchen
Cookin’ breakfast for us all

She glanced at me, my knees got weak
‘Are cheezy eggs okay with you?’

Not a day passes by
When I don’t ask myself why
But I never did forget
‘Bout the sweetest ‘Bama girl

After the feast, we watched TV
She looked so perfect in my sweats

Our guests came back, she wanted a snack
‘Frosted brown sugar okay with you?’

Not a day passes by
When I don’t ask myself why
But I never did forget
‘Bout the sweetest ‘Bama girl

Another pretty smile, a man actin’ like a child
Is all it takes to screw things up

My bama girl, showed me the world
but I let her slip away

Not a day passes by
When I don’t ask myself why
But I never did forget
‘Bout the sweetest ‘Bama girl

If I could do it all over again
I’d stay with you for a while
Findin’ out just what could’ve been,
May be worth another try

If I could do it all over again
I’d stay with you for a while
Findin’ out just what could’ve been,
May be worth another try
